A |     Anurag Kashyap’s neo-noir Kennedy achieved a huge feat recently. In a milestone moment for Indian cinema, the film has been selected as the only title from the country to feature in the debut lineup of the Letterboxd Video Store. On December 10, Letterboxd officially launched its online film-rental platform, Video Store, featuring a curated mix of acclaimed movies, exclusive Academy Award submissions, and festival hits unavailable elsewhere.          The platform will let its members watch titles on a transactional video-on-demand (TVOD) model, free from subscriptions. And nestled among nine hand-picked international films is Kennedy, which had its world premiere in 2023 at the Cannes Film Festival.     Kashyap, who wrote the film during the lockdown, says, “I am happy that finally the film will be available for the general audience to watch in some parts of the world. It’s one of my most personal films and would love to get the audience feedback and reaction, and I am thankful to Letterboxd for putting it on their new platform. And I am, hopeful that we’ll soon be able to release it in India too as the producers are working on it.          Kennedy stars Rahul Bhatt and Sunny Leone. Shot largely at night across Mumbai over an intense 30-day schedule, the film follows an insomniac ex-cop, presumed dead, who continues to work for a corrupt system while seeking redemption.     Producer Ranjan Singh adds, “Yes, it’s a great moment that after travelling to almost 30 festivals across the world, the film will be available to cinephiles in these countries and we are extremely proud as the only Indian film in this line-up. We want to thank Letterboxd for choosing Kennedy and our studio partners, Zee Studios for the support that they’ve given to make this possible. We are working together on the India release of the film soon.”     After its Cannes premiere, the film screened at the Sydney International Film Festival (Australia), Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (South Korea), Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (Switzerland), MOTELX - Lisbon International Horror Film Festival, Indie Meme Film Festival (Austin, Texas), Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (Australia), London Indian Film Festival (UK), Fantastic Fest (USA), Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, and the Kolkata International Film Festival, among others.     The countries where Kennedy will be available are the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and Switzerland.     Also Read: Anurag Kashyap to Star in Sam Anton’s Tamil Techno-thriller Unkill 123。    Florida Gov. DeSantis, Scott go after Biden on Israel

DeSantis and Scott appeared to try to burnish their conservative bona fides on Israel on Wednesday, bashing Biden over his handling of the latest conflict as he flew into a war zone to meet directly with leaders there.DeSantis lambasted the $100 million in humanitarian aid the White House supports sending to the Palestinian territories of Gaza and the West Bank, arguing that the funds -- rather than aiding civilians caught up in the fighting -- will go toward helping Hamas extremists."We know Hamas is going to commandeer that money, and Hamas is going to use it to advance terrorism. I say no U.S. tax dollars to the Gaza Strip," the governor said in a statement.Biden has said that the aid will be cut off if there's any evidence that Hamas is siphoning it off, but former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, who has engaged in a back-and-forth with DeSantis, mocked the statement, touting the 2018 move while she was in the Trump administration to eliminate funds to the U.N. agency responsible for humanitarian aid to Palestinians.Meanwhile, Scott accused Biden of not supporting Israel enough, contending that the president needed a "backbone."Biden on Wednesday gave an impassioned speech in which he vowed to back Israel while urging its response to not be driven by "rage.""You can't look at what has happened here ... and not scream out for justice," Biden said. New push on reproductive rights could produce new presidential chatter

Pritzker, the two-term Illinois governor and billionaire hotel heir, launched Think Big America, which will focus on protecting abortion access across the country and supporting ballot initiatives to enshrine protections for the procedure into state constitutions.The group is already "actively engaged" in the campaign for an Ohio ballot measure that would codify abortion protections in the state as well as in Nevada and Arizona to support their ongoing ballot measure efforts, a spokeswoman for the group said.Pritzker has sometimes been discuSeizing on a top motivator for Democrats is likely to continue to raise Pritzker's profile, though he has played down any chance of immediately running for higher office.
